Iranian oil could soon flood the world markets—thanks to new signals from the Trump administration. Reports reveal that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is considering lifting sanctions on approximately 140 million barrels of Iranian oil. For years, Iran’s oil has been locked down, and for good reason: this regime funds violent extremists, props up terrorist networks, and shouts “Death to America” at every chance. Now, Washington is thinking of handing Tehran a get-out-of-jail-free card.
Anyone paying attention knows the left’s approach has always been weak and naive when it comes to Iran. But history proves time and again that it only emboldens our enemies. Why reward Iran’s bad conduct with a massive financial windfall? Lifting these sanctions hands Iran a reward they don’t deserve. It sends a message of weakness, not strength. American power means standing up to thugs, not making concessions for a few barrels more.
