Trump Trounces Biden on Immigration, Scores Big with Hispanics

In a recent CNN segment, senior data reporter Harry Enten highlighted a significant shift in polling data regarding immigration since the 2020 election, revealing a notable advantage for former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden. Enten emphasized the substantial change in voter sentiment, stating, "This trend line really captures the difference between this election and the one in 2020."

Enten delved into the numbers, explaining, "In 2020, voter opinion on who would handle border security and immigration better was evenly split, with Biden slightly favored, reflecting his narrow victory in the election." However, current polling paints a starkly different picture, with Biden's approval rating on immigration plummeting to just 32.6 percent, according to Real Clear Politics' average of surveys.

Pointing to a Marquette University Law School poll from the previous month, Enten underscored Trump's significant lead over Biden on immigration and border security, a gap of nearly 30 points. He noted that Trump's emphasis on immigration is not confined to the Republican primary but extends to the general election as well.

Enten also addressed Biden's struggle to maintain support among Latino voters in the Southwest, revealing that a vast majority of Hispanic voters now trust Trump more on border security and immigration. Highlighting the surprising statistics, he remarked, "The polls among Hispanics reflect a significant shift, with Trump leading Biden by a wide margin."

Furthermore, Enten pointed out an unexpected turn of events in polling among Hispanic voters, indicating that despite Biden's overwhelming victory among this demographic in 2020, current polling shows a much narrower margin in favor of Biden. This suggests a potential shift in Hispanic voter preferences, with Biden holding only a slight lead over Trump.

Enten's analysis underscores the growing conservative momentum, particularly regarding immigration and border security issues. Trump's steadfast stance on these matters appears to resonate strongly with a significant segment of the electorate, signaling a notable shift in the political landscape.
