President Trump once again stands tall for the American taxpayers by putting an end to NPR and PBS’s handouts. Finally. These so-called “public” broadcasters have been feeding at the government trough for far too long while pretending to deliver nonpartisan news. But anyone with half a brain knows they’ve strayed from their original mission, becoming as left-leaning as The New York Times.
Trump’s bold executive order comes on the heels of revelations that these media outlets have been receiving much more taxpayer money than they let on. For years, they’ve kept their big-government subsidies under wraps, misleading the very people who fund them. This is the kind of sneaky behavior we’ve come to expect from institutions that wrap themselves in the flag of “public service,” only to serve their own biased agendas.
.@POTUS on the One Big, Beautiful Bill: “It will be the biggest tax cuts in the history of our country … Democrats are fighting us — and if it doesn’t get done, it’s going to be a 68% tax increase … But I think we’re going to have it done.” pic.twitter.com/IdMnfR3zBs

Whistleblowers within these organizations have tried to blow the lid off their bad practices, pointing out how there’s no real mechanism to ensure fair and balanced reporting. Surprise, surprise. NPR and PBS have long been bastions of liberal ideology under the guise of “educational programming.” Enough is enough. The American people deserve accountability, and they deserve it now.
Republicans have had enough of NPR and PBS’s antics, seen most recently in the futile efforts of NPR’s leadership to justify their biased reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop story. Their failure to investigate the Chinese lab-leak hypothesis thoroughly – only to change tunes when the information became impossible to ignore – is revealing. These aren’t markers of a reliable news organization; they’re signs of a left-wing propaganda machine.
It’s time to cut the cord. No other media outlet has a divine right to taxpayer dollars. And who can claim the government should fund a platform if it lacks objectivity? Taking taxpayer dollars while peddling propaganda—sounds like a scam. President Trump’s decisive move is a necessary correction, ensuring Americans won’t have to fund media outlets that betray their duty of neutrality. Is it about time that NPR and PBS find their own footing without Uncle Sam’s help?
