After years of watching Obamacare explode premiums and hand taxpayer dollars to the wealthy disguised as subsidies, there’s finally a framework aimed at taking the chains off American families.
This plan is bold because it throws a spotlight on one of Obamacare’s most ridiculous failures: footing the bill for premiums for people who don’t need handouts. Democrats turned a “temporary” coronavirus bailout into a permanent slush fund that benefits the rich under the guise of assisting the poor. Instead of lining the pockets of insurance companies, Trump’s approach funnels part of the subsidy directly into Americans’ own hands through tax-advantaged savings accounts. This is how you give power back to the people—by cutting out the bureaucrats and the health insurance middlemen who have made healthcare a costly nightmare.
Of course, the usual suspects are already gearing up for their predictable tantrums. The same swamp creatures in Congress who whined about “budget rules” when CSR funding was on the table will now try to sabotage any real reform. They don’t want Americans to benefit because the status quo keeps their cronies in power and their wallets fat. Meanwhile, the globalist elites and radical leftists continue to push their one-size-fits-all government control fantasy, blind to the damage they have done and refuse to fix. But the Trump White House is clear: politics be damned, healthcare needs fixing, and they’re ready to take the heat that comes with actually trying.
The road ahead won’t be easy. Washington is full of squabbling politicians more interested in playing games than delivering results.
