This administration has moved beyond empty talk and into action — authorizing strikes on suspected drug-running vessels in the Caribbean and even confirming authorization for CIA activity in Venezuela as part of a broader effort to disrupt narco-trafficking networks. If that makes Washington’s usual hand-wringers uncomfortable, so be it; the priority must be protecting American lives and securing our southern approaches.
Keane echoed what many patriots already know: this is a holistic campaign, not a parade of soundbites. He praised the president for treating narco-trafficking as the existential poison it is, and he bluntly noted that offering Maduro a way out is part of a time-honored playbook for achieving regime change when a dictator is criminally complicit in trafficking. America used tough, smart pressure before with results — it’s entirely reasonable to apply the same logic now.
Meanwhile, Maduro is looking more cornered by the day, pleading with OPEC and outside allies even as his country stumbles under crushing debt and failed leadership. The isolation of his regime shows that the world is watching and that the mad scramble to prop up corrupt kleptocrats will increasingly fail when the United States decides to act. This collapse of legitimacy is exactly the opening a serious president should exploit.
Predictably, some in Congress and the pundit class are shrieking about legality and “escalation,” yet the reality is simple: when foreign leaders traffic in death to our citizens, inaction is the real crime. Senators raised a war powers fight and think-tankers fretted about long-term impact, but Americans don’t want lectures — they want results and fewer funerals. The debate should be about how to win, not about protecting dictators who trade in poison.
Conservatives should stop apologizing for strength. We are the party that believes in sovereignty, law, and the protection of innocent lives; that means backing leaders who are willing to use all lawful and strategic tools to cut off the supply chains of death. If that requires diplomatic pressure, covert action, or surgical military moves, so be it — cowardice at the border and softness on the seas have cost too many American families already.
President Trump has given the country a clear choice: defend Americans first or keep playing geopolitical games that leave our streets to the dealers. Patriotic Americans should rally behind decisive action, support our commander-in-chief when he goes after narco-terrorism, and demand that Congress stop playing politics with national security.
