Crime in Washington DC has dropped by an incredible 35 percent in just nine days since President Trump launched his historic crackdown. This is what real leadership looks like when patriots take charge of our nation’s capital.
For too long, hardworking families visiting Washington could not feel safe in their own capital city. Drug addicts and violent criminals turned monuments to American greatness into dangerous no-go zones. Liberal politicians in DC did nothing while honest Americans suffered under the highest crime rates in the country.
President Trump stepped in where weak Democrats failed and deployed the National Guard to restore order. In just over a week, federal forces arrested hundreds of criminals including gang members and illegal immigrants. They cleared out dozens of homeless camps that terrorized neighborhoods for years.
The numbers don’t lie about how dangerous DC became under liberal control. The city recorded over 27 homicides per 100,000 people in 2024 and the highest car theft rate in America. Washington DC was literally one of the most dangerous cities in the world thanks to soft-on-crime policies.
Now our National Guard heroes are busting criminals and making the streets safe again. Vice President Vance praised these patriots for their incredible work cleaning up the mess that Democrats created. Union Station is finally becoming a place where families can visit without fear.
The administration may need to extend this mission beyond 30 days to finish the job completely. President Trump already signaled that extensions will be necessary to root out all the criminals. Congress should immediately approve whatever time our forces need to restore law and order.
Of course, radical leftists are protesting this common-sense crackdown on crime. These crazy communist agitators want to keep our capital city dangerous and dirty. They care more about protecting criminals than protecting innocent Americans who deserve safe streets.
This is just the beginning of making America safe again under President Trump’s strong leadership. When you put America First and support our law enforcement, real results happen fast. Every patriotic American should celebrate these incredible victories for public safety and order.
