Trump’s Secret Call with Putin: Did Liberals Miss the Genius Deal-Making Move Again?

In a move that should surprise no one who has been paying attention, President Donald Trump has opted not to supply Ukraine with U.S. Tomahawk missiles—a decision that has the left frothing at the mouth, yet again screeching about Russian collusion. As usual, they’re missing the bigger picture.

Let’s break it down: These Tomahawk missiles can wreak havoc on Russian infrastructure. That’s precisely why Vladimir Putin was desperate to see those weapons stay out of Ukrainian hands. Following a phone call organized by Trump’s special envoy, which lefties will undoubtedly spin as some sort of secret handshake with the Kremlin, Putin gave some sweet-talking praise to Trump’s achievements in Gaza.

And here we are, with the liberal media stubbornly stuck in their echo chamber, ignoring the glaringly obvious: Trump’s so-called Russian favoritism is—at its core—good old-fashioned deal-making. His diplomacy is something the left simply can’t wrap their heads around. They clamor about backdoor deals, but fail to see that open, honest negotiations—that include all major players—are essential to any peace process.

What’s more, the left seems to think that Russia’s influence is all-powerful. Yet they conveniently ignore that Russia’s resources are finite and its endurance isn’t limitless. Trump, always the strategist, knows that Ukraine, drowning in repeated conflict, could benefit from a peaceful resolution. Try telling that to the red-tape-loving, ivory-tower elitists who despise any streamlining in diplomacy that doesn’t involve more bureaucracy.

Republicans, some of them, are ruffled, yes. They want more checks and balances in this particular peace process. Representative Brian Fitzpatrick wants a more neutral hand guiding the negotiations. But Trump knows a thing or two about deal-making; after all, he only led one of the largest business empires in the world before his presidency.

One has to wonder: what could be accomplished if the left stopped chasing ghosts from the Trump-Russia narrative and instead focused on the actual stakes at play—American interests first. Instead, they’re busy raising the same tired questions. Meanwhile, Trump continues to play chess in a room full of checkers players.

Is America ready to embrace more pragmatic diplomacy and put an end to these wars… or will we keep spinning wheels mired in partisan tantrums?
