In a scorching takedown of the Biden family’s hypocrisy, legal expert Jonathan Turley exposed the double standards and special treatment afforded to Hunter Biden by President Joe Biden and his Democratic cronies. Turley, who knows a thing or two about impeachment proceedings, highlighted the glaring contradiction between President Biden’s words and his actions when it comes to defying subpoenas.
President Biden, in his own words, had called for accountability and criminal charges against Trump supporters who defied subpoenas. Yet when it came to his own son, Hunter Biden, snubbing a subpoena from House Republicans, he chose to look the other way and even demanded the deposition be held publicly. Talk about a classic case of “do as I say, not as I do.”
Turley didn’t stop there. He also pointed out the audacity of House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, who defied subpoenas issued by the January 6 Select Committee, now seeking to hold Hunter Biden in contempt for doing the same. The hypocrisy is mind-boggling, but it perfectly mirrors the lack of consistency we often see from the left.
But the icing on the cake was when Hunter Biden showed up on Capitol Hill, creating chaos, and demanding that Congress yield to his demands. It’s astounding to see the entitlement and arrogance of a man who has repeatedly skirted the law, only to be protected by the very same Democrats who claim to be champions of accountability.
Now, Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, is playing the game of semantics, arguing that the original subpoena wasn’t “proper” because the impeachment inquiry hadn’t been fully authorized. But Turley swiftly shut down this feeble excuse, pointing out that Hunter is already in contempt, and his demand for a “valid” subpoena is nothing more than a cynical ploy.
While Republicans like Jordan and House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer hold firm in their pursuit of a contempt vote against Hunter Biden, it’s clear that the Biden family will stop at nothing to protect their own interests. After all, if Hunter has information that could implicate his father in any illegal activities, it’s no wonder Joe Biden is willing to be hypocritical. It’s a classic case of corruption and cover-up in the highest echelons of power. And it’s deeply unsettling for anyone who believes in equal treatment under the law.
All in all, Turley’s critique exposes the Democrats’ selective enforcement of subpoenas and their disregard for the rule of law when it comes to their own. It’s a stark reminder that hypocrisy knows no bounds when it comes to those in power, and that the Biden family is no exception. The American people deserve better than this charade of accountability, and it’s high time we hold our leaders to the same standards they demand of others.
