There’s no polite way to put this: the United Nations has lost its grip on reality. When so-called “experts” at the UN start listing North Korea, China, Iran, and Somalia as places where human rights are supposedly protected or “improving,” you know the world has turned upside down. This is the same North Korea where a brutal dictator keeps his people in chains and somehow always “wins” elections with results that would make even old Soviet leaders blush. In communist China, millions—especially Uyghur Muslims—suffer in actual concentration camps. And in Iran, innocent protesters are slaughtered for daring to speak out. But sure, the UN wants to pretend these are “partners” in human rights.
Compare that disaster to the United States. America isn’t perfect, but it’s still the gold standard for freedom and rights. Our Constitution is a real beacon to millions fleeing real tyranny. Yet, what do the globalists and Leftists at the UN do? They single out America for scorn and call the U.S. the villain every chance they get, all while ignoring the daily horrors happening in the world’s true hellholes. Apparently, defending yourself against murderous regimes makes you the bad guy in their twisted minds.

Now, the UN wants to praise Somalia as a responsible actor on human rights. This is laughable. Somalia has drained American taxpayers of billions, funneling piles of cash to terrorists like al-Shabaab. It’s a playground for barbarism, not a model for the world. Want to talk violence against women? Somalia is infamous for female genital mutilation—literal torture, where girls’ bodies are destroyed in the name of culture. The UN’s own paperwork talks a big game about protecting women and giving control over their bodies. Yet, when it really counts, they’re busy patting Somalia on the back instead of calling out these crimes.
What’s the truth behind this globalist pageantry? The Left and their friends at the UN are always quick to lecture the West, but when it comes to confronting real brutality, they melt into silence. They bend over backwards to excuse or ignore the vile abuse of women and girls in Islamic countries. Then they turn around and shriek about “oppression” in America, where women enjoy freedoms unheard of in much of the world. It’s rank hypocrisy, plain and simple.
If these UN bureaucrats are so sure Somalia is a champion for human rights, maybe they should send their own families to live there for a year and see how that works out. Who do you think would pick Mogadishu over Miami? No one sane, that’s for sure. The fact that anyone at the UN could call Somalia or Iran a positive example shows just how broken, useless, and arrogant the institution has become. Maybe it’s time Americans start asking: why are we still funding this nonsense?
