James Comey, the former FBI director, has recently come out of the closet, not politically or even religiously—no, it’s musically. He’s now a self-declared Swiftie, singing the praises of pop star Taylor Swift as though she’s the font of all wisdom. This isn’t just some leisure-time activity for Comey; it’s apparently how he copes with the so-called “meanness” of Donald Trump. Imagine that the towering figure who once led the FBI, now relying on a pop singer’s tunes to help him through “tough times.” How adorably juvenile.
Comey, who claims to have been a Swift fan for 15 years, actually credits her for helping him stand up to “bullies.” This speaks volumes about the fragile state of the left, where rather than relying on robust political ideas, they take cues from pop culture icons to navigate the rough waters of modern America. The country faces serious challenges, yet here we have a former intelligence leader drawing life lessons from songs sung in stadiums filled with teenagers.
But that’s not all. Comey also took time to show his admiration for the California Governor Gavin Newsom. Because who better exemplifies failed governance and hollow words than Newsom? A perfect match for Comey’s current infatuation with celebrity advice. Supporting policies that push businesses out of a once-thriving state seems to have a synergy with serenading one’s spirit with pop ballads as a way to “cope.”

It’s hard not to laugh when Comey, looking to emulate Taylor Swift’s method of handling “internet trolls,” says he doesn’t want the left to become like Trump and his supporters. Why? Because he thinks Trump and his lot, according to Comey, are “mean jerks.” It’s almost endearing how oblivious many on the left are to their venomous rhetoric. For Comey, a man who played a key part in the Russian collusion hoax, to preach about kindness and decency is as ironic as it gets.
And as the Justice Department remains hot on his trail for his role in the infamous Russian collusion saga, one wonders if Comey will soon need to expand his playlist beyond Taylor Swift. He may find himself needing the soothing sounds to drown out the truth about his orchestration of false narratives against a sitting president.
But let’s pause and wonder: What does it say about the Democratic Party and its elite when a major figure advocates for cultural sensitivity, and their peace is orchestrated by pop lyrics? That’s right—it shows the utter bankruptcy of their approach to real-world issues. America needs leaders rooted in genuine principles and the effectiveness of policy, not melody-driven mantras crafted for escape from reality.
