Black voters, who’ve long been a steadfast part of the Democrats’ base, are starting to rethink their loyalties. They are increasingly aware that the promises doled out by progressive politicians often lead to little more than empty rhetoric. And what’s happening in the windy city of Chicago is a perfect illustration of this growing disillusionment.
In Chicago, Mayor Brandon Johnson has been under scrutiny for his peculiar use of taxpayer dollars. Instead of focusing on the pressing needs of his community, like many Democratic leaders, he decided to channel a significant chunk of the budget into assisting illegal immigrants. Now, this isn’t about being against helping those in need, but when there’s a crisis brewing at home, priorities might need reevaluation. You see, the city has been spending about $625 million over four years on migrant services, and nearly $850,000 was spent on moving migrants out of Chicago.
