Mary Katharine Ham made a guest appearance on Bill Maher’s show and she didn’t hold back. She called out the double standard surrounding the Biden family and their scandals. Ham pointed out the stark contrast in the standard of evidence used for the Russia investigation compared to the minimal standard of evidence being used in the media for the Biden family’s shenanigans. It’s a clear case of bias, and she’s absolutely right.
Sam Harris tried to justify the double standard by saying that Trump’s disruption of norms warranted the press overlooking the corruption involving the Bidens. But that argument makes no sense. Corruption is corruption, and it shouldn’t matter who is involved. Special rules should not apply to Trump or the Bidens. The fact that Trump was a disrupter doesn’t excuse ignoring blatant corruption.
And let’s not forget that it was the “norm-busters” who went after Trump first, not the other way around. The Russia hoax was initiated before Trump was even president. Harris claims to care about protecting democracy, yet he’s fine with the government being weaponized against political opponents. He actually values “norms” over the rule of law. That’s insane.
It’s frustrating that conservatives elevated Harris’ profile in the past by touting him as part of the “intellectual dark web.” It’s time for the right to stop giving left-wingers a platform. They only end up spewing more biased nonsense.
Ham may not have received much applause from Maher’s liberal audience, but her message resonates with regular Americans who see the double standard. The question is, will anything ever be done about it?
