It’s day two of the month, and she’s aghast that there was no government-funded benefit to cover those essentials, misunderstanding that SNAP benefits are not applicable for non-food items, including beauty products. She’s a billboard of modern consumerism, sporting a new car, fancy hair, and clearly not lacking in the grocery department.
Let’s add another layer to this tale—a fashionable twist of irony. This shopper, clad in nice clothes and with seemingly impeccable taste, mourns having to dip into her wallet for beauty supplies instead of using food stamps.
