White House Denies Putin’s Latest Accusation: US Behind Drone Attack on Kremlin

Moscow’s latest allegation against the United States has sparked frustration and disbelief from officials at the White House. A spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitri Peskov, recently accused Washington of being behind a drone attack on the Kremlin. They also initially accused Ukraine of orchestrating the assassination attempt on Putin. However, video footage of the attack, which Ukraine has denied involvement in, shows two explosions.

“We know well that the decisions about such actions and such terrorist acts are made not in Kyiv but in Washington,” Peskov said. “Kyiv then does what it’s told.”

The White House immediately denied the accusation, stating that “Peskov is just lying there, pure and simple.” White House Spokesman John Kirby called it a “ludicrous claim” and reiterated that the United States had “no role in it whatsoever.”

The allegations made by the Kremlin are not only unfounded but are also counterintuitive to Putin’s previously held position of strength within Russia. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also noted that Putin could no longer motivate his country as he once did. The assassination attempt theory also doesn’t hold up since Putin stays in a bunker in Novo-Ogaryovo when in Moscow.

This news follows recent allegations from the media regarding Russian interference in UN climate reports. The real motivation behind Moscow’s latest claims may be to deflect any attention from their continued abuse of democratic principles. While the United States is dealing with false accusations, the Kremlin is busy violating human rights and undermining democratic institutions.
