On Friday, a gunman entered the lobby of the Turnberry Towers hotel in Las Vegas and started shooting at the people at the front desk. A quick-thinking employee of the hotel took down the shooter, who was wearing a tactical helmet. He was shot multiple times before he ran out of the building.
The gunman was down before he could run away. The hotel employee followed him and hit him with the final blow, which prevented him from wreaking even more damage.
Despite the heroic actions of the hotel's armed employee, the authorities in Las Vegas did not acknowledge the gunman's role in the incident. The police did not confirm if an armed civilian was the person who took down the shooter, and the identity of the employee was not released. It is also feared that the district attorney might charge the man for shooting the gunman in the back as he left the building.
This incident serves as a fitting reminder that even though they may not be able to stop every mass shooting, law-abiding citizens can still help save lives when the unthinkable happens. Unfortunately, such events rarely get much attention due to how politically biased the media is when it comes to the Second Amendment, which guarantees the right to bear arms.

It is understandable that the hotel's employee's identity must be concealed, but it is also justifiable to confirm that a law-abiding citizen was the one who stopped the shooter. The police have a responsibility to provide the necessary facts about the incident, even if the individual was not allowed to carry a weapon.
It's clear that the hotel's armed worker should be commended for his bravery and quick thinking in facing the danger. RedState will be providing more updates as the situation unfolds.
