Joe Biden abruptly extended his vacation in Lake Tahoe, causing him to miss a scheduled engagement with the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces. The President instead sent the vice president and her spouse to represent the White House. Even though the WNBA is not the most popular sports league, the Bidens' last-minute cancellation is still disrespectful. This is ironic in light of Biden's incessant advocacy for gender equality. It appears that the President does not consider women's sports teams to be significant enough to care about.

Biden's decision to extend his vacation has been the subject of rumors. He has already spent considerable time away from the White House in August, first in Rehoboth Beach, then at Camp David, and now at billionaire Tom Steyer's home in Lake Tahoe. Is Biden prolonging his stay in Lake Tahoe because he is having one of his "bad days," in which he is unable to function in public? That is my best estimate. Unless there is a valid reason behind the scenes, it is not typical for a president to cancel a scheduled event at the White House.

On the other hand, Biden may simply not have cared enough to show up. He has been criticized for being a president who does nothing and is only concerned with himself and his family. After hundreds of people died and went missing as a result of a natural disaster, he was forced to tour Lahaina, Hawaii. 13 days after the area was secured, Biden made the journey, interrupting his vacation to do so. It would not be remarkable if Biden decided to extend his stay in Lake Tahoe for no particular reason. After all, he appears to be living the ideal on taxpayer funds, with no regard for anything or anyone else.
