Oh boy, hold onto your hats because the Biden administration has just decided to throw a casual $3 billion of your hard-earned tax dollars at the United Nations’ Green Climate Fund (GCF). Can you believe it? That’s a lot of dough! And all for what? To please Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry, and Vice President Kamala Harris as they make it rain at the COP28 climate conference in Dubai.
Kamala Harris, in all her glory, scolded leaders at the conference, warning them that “continued progress will not be possible without a fight.” Really? A fight? Is this turning into some climate change reality show? Maybe they can call it “The Real Administrators of Washington D.C.”

Then there’s John Kerry, clapping and cheering on as he praises the gigantic cash giveaway. He’s just thrilled about this multi-year pledge, talking about supercharging efforts and enabling countries to accelerate their so-called “energy transition.” But let’s be real, what does that even mean? It sounds like someone’s trying to sell us a time-share in the middle of a desert.
Let’s not forget the White House’s grand plan to also participate in a conference addressing methane pollution alongside, hold your breath for this one, China and the United Arab Emirates. Because who else would you want to team up with to solve climate change than major polluters, right?
And now, we’re back to this Green Climate Fund, established as part of a 2009 U.N. agreement. It’s supposed to hand out $100 billion a year to poor countries for “emissions reduction initiatives” and “compensation” for climate-related damages. But let’s be honest, we all know where that money really ends up going. It’s like giving a kid a dollar for a toy and they end up using it to buy a candy bar instead.
So, there you have it, folks. Another day, another eye-roll moment brought to you by the Biden administration. Can’t wait to see what other fortune cookies they’ll crack open next.
