Joe Biden finds himself in yet another troubling situation. The southern border crisis and the ongoing conflict with Texas Governor Greg Abbott has forced Biden into a tough spot. Some Texas Democrats, including Beto O’Rourke, are urging Biden to take control of the Texas National Guard if Abbott continues construction at the border. However, Abbott believes that if Biden were to federalize the National Guard, it would be a colossal political blunder. In an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Abbott expressed his confidence that Biden wouldn’t dare make such a move, stating, “That’s why I think he will not do it.”
Abbott seems to be under the impression that Biden lacks the courage to take such action. He even went as far as to say that he would be “shocked” if Biden were to federalize the Texas National Guard, calling it a “boneheaded move” and a “total disaster.” However, Abbott is prepared for the worst-case scenario. He confirmed that he has other armed law enforcement personnel ready to secure the border, and reinforcements from other states are on their way.
Abbott believes that his standoff with the Biden administration has gained significant support from Republican governors across the country. He thanked these governors, stating, “Half of America now is standing against the Biden administration.” Abbott remains confident in Texas’ constitutional right to defend itself against invasion and sees this conflict as an opportunity to strengthen the Constitution.
While the tense standoff continues, Biden may view Abbott’s skepticism as a challenge. If Biden decides to nationalize the Texas National Guard, Abbott won’t be caught off guard. He is ready to counter any moves made by the Biden administration and ensure that Texas can continue the construction of the border barriers. In the end, Abbott firmly believes that Texas will be vindicated, and the Constitution will prevail.
