The Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security just can’t seem to keep their ties to anti-Israel groups under wraps! Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia, the officer for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties at DHS, has been linked to the anti-Israel Rutgers Law School Center for Security, Race, and Rights. And guess what? This center is currently under a congressional investigation for its shady dealings.

This Rutgers center has been catching heat for cozying up to some real sketchy characters, like Sami al Arian, who was convicted for helping out the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group. And wouldn’t you know it, Adeel Mangi, a federal judicial nominee who’s been dealing with his own set of controversies, was an advisor for this problematic think tank.
Republican lawmakers, like Sen. Josh Hawley, are not taking this news lightly. They’re concerned that the Biden administration is either not bothering to do their homework on their own employees and nominees or they just don’t care about their troubling connections. It’s a real head-scratcher.
To make matters worse, Wadhia’s ties to the Rutgers center go back to early 2022, right after the center’s event with Arian in 2021. It’s like they’re not even trying to hide their questionable associations. And did you hear what this center had to say about a Hamas-led attack on Israel? They tried to downplay it by comparing condemning the terrorist group to ignoring “colonial violence.”
Wadhia has been buddy-buddy with Sahar Aziz, the director of the Rutgers center, who just so happens to have received a paid fellowship from none other than Democratic mega-donor George Soros! It’s like a twisted web of liberal connections and anti-Israel sentiments, and it’s all playing out right under the Biden administration’s nose.
Even the House Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman, Virginia Foxx, has thrown her hat in the ring, expressing “grave concerns” about the troubling incidents involving the Rutgers center. She’s not holding back, sending letters to top Rutgers officials and calling them out for their inadequate response to antisemitism on their campuses. It’s a fierce battleground out there, and it looks like the Biden administration is right in the middle of it all.
