The immigration court backlog has reached a whopping 3.5 million cases under President Joe Biden’s watch, according to the fine folks at Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) over at Syracuse University. That’s a lot of cases, folks! It’s like trying to fit the entire population of Chicago into a courtroom – now that’s a sight to see!
Biden’s Department of Homeland Security seems to be playing a game of “release ’em and forget ’em,” as tens of thousands of migrants are let loose into the U.S. interior regularly. The backlog has grown so much that Immigration Judges are drowning in roughly 4,500 pending cases each. That’s a heavier load than Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve!

When President Trump was at the helm, the backlog was just under 570,000 cases. But now, under Biden’s administration, it has nearly tripled! It’s like a tree growing out of control in the backyard – someone grab the pruning shears!
And get this, the number of migrants skipping out on their deportation court dates is skyrocketing. It’s like a game of hide and seek, but nobody’s really looking to seek them out. The Biden administration seems content to let these no-shows roam free, even if they’ve been ordered to hit the road.
In the end, it’s clear that the immigration system is more backed up than a broken-down RV on a cross-country road trip. With no signs of relief in sight, those judges better buckle up for a bumpy ride through the legal maze of migration madness.
