A new poll conducted by Harvard CAPS Harris has revealed that a majority of Americans aren’t buying the White House’s denial of President Joe Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings. According to the poll, a whopping 60% of Americans believe that Biden “helped and participated” in his son’s deals. On the flip side, 40% of Americans say that Biden did not participate in the business dealings.

Harris Poll Chairman Mark Penn, in an interview with The Hill, acknowledged that while the news cycles may have moved on to other topics, voters are still concerned about Hunter Biden and how involved President Biden was in his business. Penn stated, “Hunter received a high unfavorable rating – worse than the president – and most believe that the president at least knew about his dealings.” This sentiment was reflected in the poll, which showed that Hunter Biden received a 55% unfavorability rating, the highest among various politicians surveyed. Joe Biden himself received a 49% unfavorability rating, while former President Donald Trump received a 44% unfavorability rating.
It is worth noting that President Biden has denied having any involvement in his son’s foreign business dealings. Additionally, the White House has dismissed the House Oversight Committee’s presentation of documents as part of a probe into President Biden. These documents include bank records that allegedly show a financial connection between the Biden family and their Chinese business associates, suggesting that the president received $40,000 from China in September 2017. However, the White House spokesperson for oversight and investigations, Ian Sams, dismissed these claims as “lies and conspiracy theories,” implying that the probe is falling apart.
Despite these denials from the White House, the Harvard CAPS Harris poll demonstrates that the American public remains skeptical and believes that President Biden was involved in his son’s business dealings. The poll results raise important questions about transparency and trust within the Biden administration, as the president continues to navigate these ongoing controversies surrounding Hunter Biden.
