Former President Joe Biden has officially earned the dubious distinction of being the most vacation-happy president in modern history, with a staggering total of 577 days off during his four-year term. That’s right: Biden decided that the Oval Office could wait while he enjoyed a grand total of nearly two years of leisure. The New York Post crunched the numbers and confirmed what many Americans have sensed all along—while they were working hard, their president was living it up.
The analysis reveals that out of his 1,463 days in office, Biden managed to take off a jaw-dropping 39%. For context, the average American receives just 11 vacation days a year. To match Biden’s impressive getaway record, a hardworking citizen would need to toil away for 52 years. Given that many conservatives are gritting their teeth at rising prices and economic woes, it’s a wonder how such a privileged lifestyle can be reconciled with the everyday struggles of the American worker.

When stacking Biden against his presidential predecessors, the numbers tell a glaring story. George H.W. Bush took 543 days off, representing roughly 37% of his term, while his son George W. Bush, despite his frequent trips, managed to take only 35%. Compare this to President Donald Trump, who maintained a mere 26% vacation rate with 381 days off. Interestingly, Jimmy Carter stands strong as the champion of office-bound presidents, having taken just 79 days off, equating to a scant 5%. Clearly, the vacation game is not one that Biden’s counterparts played while in charge.
It doesn’t stop at the sheer amount of time off; the timing of Biden’s breaks raises eyebrows as well. While crises unfolded, such as the announcement of his reelection bid withdrawal, Biden seemingly had no qualms about relaxing at his private beach home. After signaling to his party that he was stepping back, he went on to spend 43 out of the next 70 days vacationing. One has to wonder whether he took a political break or simply a break from reality during that chaotic time.
And let’s not forget the luxurious locations Biden chose for his leave. His preferred spots included not just Rehoboth Beach in Delaware but also the picturesque Camp David, the Santa Ynez Valley wine region, and his spacious Wilmington residence. To cap things off, he indulged in 23 consecutive days of vacation from August 8 to September 2, followed by jaunts to Nantucket and even the sun-drenched shores of St. Croix. With such a lifestyle, one has to ask—who is really running the show in Washington? The voters wanted a leader; instead, they got a part-time tourist.
