Another day, another disastrous stunt from the Biden administration, where virtue-signaling trumps common sense and results in utter chaos. The latest fiasco involves a misguided attempt to build a floating dock off the coast of Gaza, intended to serve as a humanitarian lifeline. Instead, it has turned into a $230 million catastrophe. It’s a textbook example of the left-wing approach: throw money at a problem with no real plan, and then pretend like the chaos that follows was unforeseen.
The floating pier lasted for all of ten days before Mother Nature accomplished what bureaucracy could not – it was rendered useless by heavy seas. For a price tag of $23 million a day, we’ve essentially tossed taxpayer dollars into the ocean. Almost immediately, cargo ships sent to deliver humanitarian aid were waylaid not by enemy forces but by the ineptitude of Biden’s team, who forgot that basic security is more critical than ever in this volatile region. Aid was stolen right from under their noses, untouched by the many hands it should have helped.

And let’s talk about the human cost. It turns out the administration also downplayed the injuries suffered by our brave troops in this exercise in folly. Initially, we were told three members were injured, but the real number is closer to 62. We lost a young Army sergeant in the aftermath of this failure, a tragedy that underscores how meaningless posturing in DC can have fatal consequences.
Even Mississippi’s Senator Roger Wicker hit the nail on the head when he called this venture an expensive experiment driven by political motivations rather than practical sense. This debacle reeks of an attempt to satisfy the far-left, ignoring both the practical advice of experts and the risks faced by American service members. The administration’s clumsy handling of this initiative highlights a dangerous trend of prioritizing optics over outcomes.
Is it an unexpected surprise that Biden’s brain trust bungled this project like a child on his first day at kindergarten? Let this serve as a warning: when naive policy meets reality, who foots the bill? We do. America’s tax dollars deserve more than to sink beneath waves because liberals can’t distinguish between ambition and disaster.
