Biden’s Approval Nosedives! Inflation Nightmare Erodes Voter Trust

In a shocking twist of fate, President Joe Biden’s popularity among independent voters has plummeted to an all-time low of 27 percent, according to the latest Gallup poll. It seems that Biden’s approval rating has taken a major nosedive in just the span of a month, dropping a whopping eight points. The dwindling support among independents is a clear sign that the 2024 election will be a nail-biter between Biden and the probable GOP nominee, none other than the esteemed former President Donald Trump.

The poll revealed a grim outlook for Biden’s policies as well, with a measly 24 percent approval rating for his handling of the sluggish economy and only 27 percent for his overall job performance. When it comes to foreign policy, the numbers weren’t much better, with a lackluster 28 percent approval rating. Even on the issue of the Ukraine War, Biden only managed to scrape by with a meager 31 percent approval. And don’t even get started on healthcare policy, where Biden mustered a paltry 35 percent approval rating.

Gallup didn’t mince words when it came to their assessment of Biden’s performance, stating that his overall job approval rating is at a historic low and is venturing into “dangerous territory” for an incumbent seeking re-election. Yikes! The poll’s findings weren’t any rosier when it came to Biden’s overall approval rating among Americans, matching all-time lows at 37 percent.

The survey, which included 1,013 Americans and had a 4-point margin of error, made it crystal clear that Biden’s handling of the economy, particularly the issue of inflation, has taken a toll on his popularity. A recent Bloomberg report revealed that the cost of living for the hardworking American has skyrocketed, with the price of everyday goods and services becoming increasingly out of reach. For instance, the $100 that Americans could stretch in 2020 now only gets them $119.27 worth of goods and services. That’s a hefty price tag for a gallon of ground beef, which has surged to $5.23 on average from $3.89 in January 2020.

With no end in sight to the inflation crisis, it’s no wonder that Americans are feeling the pinch. Electric bills have shot up by a whopping 25 percent since January 2020, and the cost of natural gas has risen by 29 percent in the same time frame. The price hikes don’t stop there, with everything from coffee to car insurance seeing double-digit percentage increases. As Wells Fargo & Co. Senior Economist Sarah House aptly put it, consumers are now left hoping for prices to at least level off, giving their incomes a chance to catch up.

The bottom line is crystal clear: Biden’s approval ratings are tanking, and with inflation running rampant, the American people are feeling the squeeze. It’s no wonder why support for Biden is slipping, and if things don’t turn around soon, it looks like there may be a major shake-up in the White House real soon. So, buckle up, folks, because it’s shaping up to be one wild and bumpy ride to the 2024 election!
