Biden’s Border Blunder: Mayorkas Slammed for Misuse of Parole Power

The Biden border crisis rages on! The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has called out DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his mishandling of the border crisis and the alleged misuse of parole authority. The Biden administration has been using the Immigration and Nationality Act as an excuse to grant parole to tens of thousands of inadmissible aliens each month, including Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, Cubans, and Haitians. This rampant misuse of parole authority has reportedly allowed over a million inadmissible aliens into our country over the past two years.

But it gets worse. The DHS has been making it even easier for inadmissible aliens to enter the U.S. by adding capabilities to its CBP One app, which allows aliens abroad to schedule appointments at ports of entry and facilitates their parole into the U.S. According to reports, 99% of aliens who applied for an appointment through the app were approved for parole. And to top it off, the DHS announced it would use a lottery-type system to determine who gets parole next.

It’s clear that the Biden administration’s open borders policies are responsible for this escalating border crisis. The committee has demanded documents and information from the DHS to get to the bottom of this misuse of parole authority and to hold Secretary Mayorkas accountable for his role in this crisis. Will the Biden administration provide the information requested, or will they continue to dodge responsibility for their failures at the border? Americans deserve better than an administration that puts the interests of illegal aliens above the safety and security of our nation.
