President Biden is back at it again, playing political games with the federal budget. Just one day before a potential government shutdown, Biden signed a temporary spending bill that ensures the government remains open until after the holiday season. This spending package keeps government funding at its current excessive levels for two more months, prolonging the inevitable debate over where our hard-earned tax dollars will be wasted. The bill sets up two dates for potential government shutdowns – because why have just one when you can have two, right? Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican, championed this two-step approach, while the Senate, unsurprisingly, wasn’t on board. But hey, at least it prevented a shutdown for now, right?
Johnson has made it clear that he won’t support any more of these temporary funding measures, and he’s right. It’s time for Washington to stop kicking the can down the road and start making responsible budget decisions. And let’s not forget that this spending bill doesn’t include the White House’s bloated $106 billion request for wartime aid for Israel and Ukraine. It’s classic liberal playbook to prioritize foreign aid while neglecting issues at home, like securing our borders.
The fact is, Biden and his Democrat cronies aren’t serious about controlling spending or protecting American interests. They’d rather posture and play political games than tackle the tough issues facing our country. And with the holidays approaching, we can only hope that they come to their senses and start putting Americans first. But let’s not hold our breath, folks.
