It comes as no surprise that the Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has been embroiled in controversy once again, with damning revelations surfacing about Attorney General Merrick Garland and his potential colluding with David Weiss, the U.S. Attorney assigned to the Hunter Biden case, in order to mislead Congress. Unfortunately, the White House has been extremely tight-lipped about taking any questions or issuing any statements regarding the matter, only adding fuel to the fire of suspicions that their top priorities lie in covering up their gross misconduct.
Surprise, Surprise: White House Won't Even Discuss Whether AG Garland Committed Perjury https://t.co/Xqj5QbVGEk

The conflicting back-and-forth between Garland and Weiss surrounding whether the latter had full authority to charge Hunter Biden is only the tip of the iceberg. IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley claimed that Weiss had informed several people that he did not have the authority to charge outside of his district, but Garland contradicted these claims by stating that Weiss did have that authority. The situation got even murkier when it was revealed that Weiss had told the House Judiciary Committee in a letter that he did indeed have full authority, answering a letter from last month sent from the committee to Garland.

"Does the White House believe Attorney General Garland committed perjury when he testified under oath that Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss could bring charges outside of his district?"
Biden Deputy Press Secretary Olivia Dalton: "I don't have any comment.”

DOJ Attorney General Garland has ignored his responsibility to the Constitution & to Americans to impartially enforce our Nation’s laws.
As @JudiciaryGOP considers whether the AG has violated that public trust, we’ll continue to follow the facts wherever they may lead.

We need to get to the facts, and that includes reconciling these clear disparities. U.S. Attorney David Weiss must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee.

It’s difficult to overlook how these details, albeit confusing and conflicting at times, raise serious questions that deserve answers. Unfortunately, it seems the White House is more interested in playing politics than being transparent and honest with the American people. When a reporter asked Principal Deputy Press Secretary Olivia Dalton for a “follow up on last week,” the White House refused to comment, even shooting down the question altogether, which is highly concerning.
On the other hand, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) of the House Judiciary Committee is determined to get to the bottom of the issue. He sent a letter to Weiss, demanding answers to several questions, including who helped him write that letter on Garland’s behalf. Additionally, NBC News reported that Garland himself is scheduled to testify on September 20, forcing him to answer tough questions and be held accountable.
The DOJ’s refusal to comment on the upcoming hearing only adds insult to injury. It is high time that the Biden administration stops playing politics and starts being honest with the American people about their actions. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) even expressed a willingness to impeach Garland, and with Biden’s administration this embroiled in controversy, who knows how high up the scandal goes.
