Three innocent Americans are dead because our broken immigration system failed them. Harjinder Singh, an illegal immigrant who crossed our southern border in 2018, killed a family of three when he made an illegal U-turn on a Florida highway. This tragedy was completely preventable.
Singh should never have been driving a massive truck on American roads. He failed basic English tests and could only identify one out of four traffic signs. Yet liberal states like California gave him a commercial license anyway, putting every American family at risk.
The blood is on the hands of soft-on-immigration politicians who care more about illegal aliens than American citizens. Singh was denied work authorization under President Trump in 2020, but Joe Biden’s administration gave him a new permit just four months ago. This is what happens when we reward lawbreaking instead of punishing it.
California Governor Gavin Newsom’s reckless policies directly caused this tragedy. His state hands out driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants like candy, no questions asked. Three families will never be whole again because Newsom puts politics over public safety.
When Singh realized he had killed three people, he ran like a coward back to California. Florida’s Lieutenant Governor had to personally fly out there to bring this killer back to face justice. Even Singh’s brother was in the country illegally and riding in the truck during the crash.
A judge rightfully denied bond for Singh, calling him a flight risk after he already proved he would run from his crimes. This killer belongs behind bars, not roaming free in our communities. Every day he was on our roads was a day American families were in danger.
This is exactly why we need to secure our border and end sanctuary city madness. When we don’t enforce immigration law, innocent Americans pay the price with their lives. These three victims deserved better from their government.
It’s time to put America First and stop coddling criminals who have no right to be here. Every illegal immigrant driving without proper skills is a potential killer waiting to strike. We must act now before more American families are destroyed by this preventable violence.
