Three years ago, Joe Biden promoted himself as a buddy of Black Lives Matter (BLM), but now we see just how twisted the alliance has become. In the midst of the despicable attacks in Israel, BLM has shamelessly taken the side of Hamas.
BLM Grassroots recently released a statement defending Hamas’ abhorrent actions as acts of so-called “self-defense” against “apartheid.” Can you believe it? They are actually trying to justify Hamas’ rape and pillage as a legitimate response to alleged oppression.
The statement goes on to connect the struggle of Palestinians for “liberation” with a worldwide fight against “colonialism” and oppression. They are shamelessly trying to equate the plight of Palestinians with the challenges faced by black Americans, such as mass incarceration. The audacity of this comparison is truly mind-boggling.
Let’s not forget that Israel has been under constant threat from Hamas, an organization that has shown no regard for human life. Hamas has ruthlessly murdered over 1,000 Israelis and kidnapped more than 100 innocent civilians. Yet, BLM seems to care more about defending the terrorists than supporting the innocent victims of their heinous acts.
This ongoing conflict has also revealed a deep divide on the left. While most elected Democrats have stood firmly with Israel, there are radicals within academia and groups like BLM who continue to support armed Palestinian “liberation.” It’s disheartening to see these groups embrace violence and terrorism instead of seeking peaceful solutions.
Even at prestigious institutions like Harvard, students who dare to hold Israel accountable are being threatened with corporate blacklisting. It’s truly alarming to witness the suppression of free speech in the name of political correctness and anti-Israel sentiment.
Fortunately, President Biden has condemned Hamas for their actions, rightly calling them “sheer evil.” It’s about time! However, there are still members of his own party, such as the infamous “Squad,” who continue to make repugnant comments, responding to the Hamas violence with equivocation. It’s clear that some Democrats are out of touch with reality and have lost sight of the basic moral principles that should guide their actions.
And let’s not forget the Chicago chapter of BLM, which briefly celebrated the Hamas fighters who used paragliders to mercilessly slaughter innocent festival-goers in the desert. This just goes to show that BLM has a long history of violence and radicalism. It’s high time that Biden takes a stand against this dangerous group and denounces their support for terrorism.
BLM’s disturbing alliance with Hamas is a clear indication of their true colors. Their support for terrorism and violence is inexcusable and reveals the dangerous path they have chosen. It’s time for Biden to distance himself from this violent group and condemn their actions unequivocally.
