Britain’s former Prime Minister Liz Truss has sounded the alarm on her country’s collapse, warning that “everything that made Britain great is being destroyed” by left-wing leaders and unaccountable bureaucrats. Speaking at a conservative conference in the U.S., she slammed Britain’s socialist policies, unchecked immigration, and energy failures while calling for a “Trump-style revolution” to save the West.
Truss blasted Britain’s immigration system, where criminals avoid deportation over concerns like “family life” rights. She highlighted cases of illegal immigrants committing serious crimes but staying in the U.K. due to “human rights” loopholes. Grooming gangs targeting young girls have operated with little punishment, and authorities allegedly covered up their crimes instead of stopping them.
Britain’s energy policies have led to the highest prices in the developed world, Truss said. Fracking bans and “net zero” regulations shut down industries, including the last remaining steel plant. The Bank of England printed money recklessly, causing inflation and wasting taxpayer funds. Truss argued these decisions have left Britain “almost bankrupt morally, socially, and economically.”
Truss accused the “deep state” of sabotaging her efforts to cut taxes and deregulate the economy during her brief time as prime minister. She claims the Bank of England and Treasury colluded to undermine her policies, calling it proof that unelected bureaucrats hold more power than elected leaders. “The British system is deeply rotten,” she declared, urging conservatives to drain the swamp.
To fight left-wing media dominance, Truss announced plans for a “free speech media network” with American allies. She mocked the BBC as the “Britain Bashing Corporation” and vowed to expose censorship. The network would be “uncensorable” and take on governments she says are pushing “anti-West ideology” like Islamism and green extremism.
Truss praised Donald Trump’s leadership and Elon Musk’s “nerd army of Muskrats” for challenging establishment narratives. She called Trump’s presidency a “Golden Age” and urged Britain to adopt his playbook of executive orders and bold reforms. “We missed the first American revolution in 1776,” she joked. “We want to be part of the second.”
Truss blamed decades of weak leadership for handing power to international bodies like the U.N. and World Health Organization. Tony Blair’s creation of an “unaccountable Supreme Court” and powerful bureaucrats stripped away British freedoms, she argued. Universities and corporations have embraced “transgenderism” and “wokery” instead of defending Western values.
The former PM warned that Western civilization has a decade to reverse course. Without urgent action, she fears Islamist extremism, economic collapse, and cultural decay will finish off the West. “Patriotic Brits have had enough,” Truss said, urging grassroots movements to rise up against elites.
