CA Activist Murder: Friends Prefer Soft Justice Over Prison Time! Can Crime Conquer?

In the leftist paradise of California, a progressive activist was brutally killed during a robbery, but her friends are outraged that the alleged murderer may face justice. Ishmael Burch, 19, was charged with killing Jen Angel by dragging her with his car for more than 50 feet after robbing her. Instead of demanding justice for their friend, Angel’s friends are calling for “restorative justice,” which means no prison time for the criminal.

Angel’s friend told ABC 7, “Like locking somebody in a cage, is that really going to bring Jen back?” Apparently, Angel’s friends believe that justice does not deserve to be served, but instead, the criminal should be free to roam the streets once again.

Yet, Oakland residents are fed up with the high crime rates and the criminals who target women in particular. During a recent town hall meeting, an outraged public school teacher expressed frustration with politicians’ policies that coddle criminals. Another woman shared her terrifying experience of being beaten, kicked, and dragged by two boys.

Furthermore, this heinous crime is an indication of how progressive policies like “restorative justice” are failing society. Instead of punishing criminals for their actions, this approach allows them to walk away without true accountability. It is clear that Alameda County must prioritize the safety of its residents and enforce the law against those who commit crimes. Angel’s tragic death should not be used to push a political agenda that puts criminals’ needs above law-abiding citizens’ safety.
