RedState was the first to shine a spotlight on the astonishing discovery of an illegal bio lab in the quaint town of Reedley, nestled in California’s Central Valley. What started as a seemingly ordinary investigation quickly became a shocking exposé of the dangerous activities taking place behind closed doors. It all began with a suspicious garden hose illegally connected to a supposedly vacant warehouse. When city code enforcement officers ventured inside, they stumbled upon a clandestine operation rife with code violations. A room in the warehouse was revealed to be a production site for COVID-19 and pregnancy tests, while other rooms contained blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples. Shockingly, almost 1,000 lab mice were discovered, with 200 already dead. Thousands of vials, some containing hazardous materials and human blood, added to the unnerving scene.
The plot thickened when investigators learned that the mice found at the lab were genetically engineered to catch and carry the COVID-19 virus. These findings raise serious concerns about the origins and intentions of this dangerous experiment. The lab was leased by Prestige Biotech, Inc. (PBI), a Nevada company not registered to do business in California, and Universal Meditech, Inc. (UMI), a company owned and managed by Chinese nationals for several years.
As the story unfolds, more disturbing details emerge. The weaponized mice discovered in the lab were valued at hundreds of thousands, even a million dollars, according to emails exchanged between PBI and Fresno County officials. Additionally, UMI was forced to recall over 56,000 COVID-19 test kits in November 2022 due to inadequate data showing their accuracy. The connection between UMI and the Chinese communist regime raises questions about potential espionage and the reliability of COVID-19 data provided by China.
It’s no surprise that UMI received favorable treatment from California officials, including a California Competes tax credit of $360,000. The extent of UMI’s eligibility for this credit and the outcome of their financial situation amidst the pandemic remain uncertain, demanding further investigation. Additionally, the company received two Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans totaling $149,824, which were eventually forgiven. This raises concerns about the potential misuse of federal funds and the need for greater oversight of the loan forgiveness process.
Furthermore, the absence of bankruptcy filings related to UMI contradicts their claim of bankruptcy proceedings. Instead, UMI faces multiple lawsuits from creditors and former business associates, exposing a trail of unpaid bills and legal disputes. The involvement of Chinese nationals and their network of interrelated corporations in these legal entanglements only deepens the suspicion surrounding UMI’s operations.
It is now apparent that Fresno County officials may have been entangled in a web of influence and questionable oversight. UMI was quick to praise the county’s Economic Development Corporation (EDC) for its guidance, HR resources, and assistance with incentives like the California Competes tax credit. However, these officials are now facing criticism for their delayed response to safety violations at UMI’s previous location in Fresno and their failure to thoroughly investigate suspicions of illegal activity in Reedley. The potential connection between UMI and these officials demands a thorough examination to ensure accountability.
