CNN is at it again, showcasing its masterclass in deception. After the recent interview with Elon Musk, which had the conservative world buzzing and, importantly, shining a spotlight on former President Donald Trump, the network felt it necessary to do what it does best—twist the narrative to undermine Trump’s influence.
The left-wing media outlet launched a selective editing campaign that would make even the most seasoned spin doctors proud. In an absurd attempt to downplay the impact of Trump and Musk’s discussion on nuclear energy, CNN presented a snippet so distorted that it suggested the two men were trivializing the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Minor detail: that’s not what they were discussing at all.

The Trump 2024 campaign quickly sprang into action, pushing back against CNN’s narrative. The campaign took to the social media platform X, revealing the full, unedited version of the interview to illustrate that not only was CNN misleading the public, but they were, as usual, hell-bent on crafting a fiction. While the network focused on those two grim chapters of history, the actual conversation revolved around the potential of nuclear energy and how misconceptions fuel unnecessary fear.
To put this nonsense in perspective, Musk was making a point about the irradiation of public perception versus reality regarding nuclear energy. It was during this discussion, meant to highlight the viability of nuclear power alternatives, that he mentioned Hiroshima and Nagasaki as cities that have rebounded since their destruction. When harnessed for energy, nuclear fallout doesn’t render areas uninhabitable for centuries, as the mainstream narrative would suggest. CNN, however, turned a severe conversation into a cheap shot, hoping to fire off an emotional narrative rather than engage in factual dialogue.
It doesn’t require a crystal ball to see how CNN continues to mislead. Viewed through the lens of selective editing, the network’s clip painted a picture that left no room for context. Yet even in times as confusing as these, conservative Americans are wise to the tricks of old-school media manipulation. The grandiose idea that bombings could be downplayed was quickly dismissed by the truth revealed in the full context of the clip, something the cable news channel likely didn’t expect.
Given the current state of media integrity—or lack thereof—it’s clear that CNN’s playbook is outdated. They seem unaware that viewers are no longer helpless consumers of information. The landscape of media scrutiny has changed drastically, and, much to CNN’s chagrin, the age of unchallenged propaganda is long gone. In 2024, it’s about holding institutions accountable rather than letting them play fast and loose with the truth. Conservative America is awake and ready to fact-check those who attempt to pull the wool over their eyes.
