CNN’s ability to spin is truly something to behold, especially when it comes to President Joe Biden’s occasional verbal slip-ups. During a recent episode of “The Source,” host Kaitlan Collins effectively dismantled the White House’s latest attempt to clarify Biden’s eyebrow-raising comments about the supporters of Donald Trump. It’s ironic to hear the White House trying to polish a massive political gaffe, especially when viewers can just hit “play” and watch Biden’s words in real time.
The topic took center stage when Collins engaged in conversation with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, a Democrat who, like many in his party, seems to occupy the “See No Evil” zone when it comes to their own leaders’ blunders. In a video snippet that left the audience scratching their heads, Biden made a strong declaration, insinuating that the “only garbage” floating around was indeed Trump supporters. In a moment that can only be described as classic Biden, he couldn’t help but throw in a little bit of strange, vague commentary about “demonization of Latinos,” as if trying to cover multiple bases with a single fireball of confusion.

Collins astutely pointed out that while the White House was scrambling to clarify the President’s remarks, it was a bit hard to buy the spin they’re selling. She noted that Biden’s words give the impression that he indeed considers Trump supporters as “garbage.” Even more amusing was the White House’s imaginative defense, trying to claim Biden meant to refer to a singular “supporter.” Really? An isolated supporter gets a name drop, while millions of Trump fans are relegated to the trash bin?
The manner in which the White House has tried to clean up this verbal mess showcases the deep irony at play in liberal media circles. They spin tales and pull out their best narrative manipulation, all while the public can readily access the original comments. Instead of attempting to interpret the President’s gaffe, it might be more productive for them to focus on improving his speechwriter’s coffee supply.
In short, while the Democrats strive to turn Biden’s rocky rhetoric into political pap, conservative audiences can’t help but chuckle at the sheer absurdity. Out there in the real world, facts matter, and the fact is Biden’s words speak for themselves—regardless of the White House’s spin doctors trying to rewrite the story on the fly. The line between genuine political discourse and slapstick comedy has never felt so blurry.
