Democrats Fumble Israel Support, Jeffries Dodges Tough Hamas Stance

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) once again showed his true colors on Wednesday, lacking the spine to fully support President Joe Biden’s strong and necessary pro-Israel stance. Speaking at a press conference, Jeffries failed to denounce the brutal terrorist organization Hamas and tiptoed around the need for a decisive defeat of the group.

It’s no surprise that President Biden and the Democrats are squirming when it comes to taking a stand against terrorism. Biden even weakly declared that an invasion of the Gazan city Rafah would be “crossing a red line” that the United States could not support. Pathetic.

As if that’s not enough, the Democrats in Congress can’t seem to get their act together when it comes to supporting our ally Israel. With many far-left Democrats calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, it’s clear that they are putting political posturing ahead of the lives of innocent civilians.

Let’s not forget about Jeffries dismissing any alternative to the Senate’s Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan aid bill and demanding that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) bring the Senate bill up for a vote in the House. Come on, Jeffries, get with the program and support the bipartisan national security bill instead of playing political games.

The Senate bill, which had broad support with a 70-30 vote and included backing from 22 Republicans, is a crucial step in providing aid to our allies and supporting national security efforts. But of course, Johnson has been hesitant due to the bill’s price tag. Maybe he should consider putting the safety and security of our allies ahead of penny-pinching.

It’s time for the Democrats to stop dancing around the issue, stand firm against terrorism, and fully support President Biden’s pro-Israel stance. Anything less is an embarrassment, and the American people deserve better.
