Alabama’s Sen. Katie Britt doesn’t mince words, and she shouldn’t have to—especially when the stakes are this high. While the country faces a partial government shutdown, Democrats in Washington are running off to Munich for globalist conferences and photo ops. It’s almost comical. Our TSA agents, Coast Guard, and FEMA workers go unpaid, but liberal elites have the time and taxpayer dollars to wine and dine overseas. This is exactly the kind of twisted priorities that have left Americans shaking their heads.
Isn’t it rich? The same Democrat politicians who scream and cry about caring for “working families” are right now on jet planes to Europe, ducking out of their responsibilities. Instead of staying in D.C. to hammer out a deal and make sure our government works, they’d apparently rather hobnob in Germany. Meanwhile, regular folks back home worry about airport delays, emergency disaster help, and missed paychecks.

Let’s be clear: the blame for this shutdown falls right in the laps of these so-called leaders on the left. They refuse to show up or make real compromises. They posture and finger-point, but when it comes time to actually do their jobs, they check out and chase headlines. These Democrats have zero interest in fixing the runaway spending that’s threatening our kids’ future. Why should they care? They’re too busy sipping cocktails with European socialists, patting themselves on the back for being “global citizens.”
Contrast that with leaders like Katie Britt, who stand their ground and call out these stunts for what they are—cowardly, hypocritical, and anti-American. Britt’s not afraid to point out that working people in this country get left behind, every single time, when the Democratic Party puts foreign trips and empty gestures above taking real action at home.
America needs leaders who put our nation first, not politicians who sneak out the back door the second things get tough. Maybe the real question is: How many hard-working Americans have to suffer before Democrats finally put America above their love affair with globalist elites?
