In a surprising turn of events, Senate Democrats’ push for a new set of ethical standards for Supreme Court justices has flopped miserably, leaving them with nothing but burnt fried chicken. Two prominent Republican senators, John and Ted, made it abundantly clear during a recent press conference that the proposed legislation, known as the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act, is nothing more than a lifeless piece of legislation.
Senator John, known for his wit and honesty, hilariously declared, “This bill is dead as fried chicken.” He pointed out the obvious: the bill lacks the necessary 60 votes in the Senate and has zero chance of passing through the House. So, why waste precious time and energy on a futile endeavor? It makes no sense to beat up on the Supreme Court, even if you love playing politics. As a conservative, one can’t help but shake their head and think about the real issues our country faces.

Let’s recap how this proposed rule change came about. Senator Sheldon White House, a Democrat from Rhode Island, introduced the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act following a report that the left-wing outlet, ProPublica, published on Justice Clarence Thomas. Apparently, Thomas had taken some fancy trips with conservative mega donor Harlan Crow. The Democrats, in their usual fashion, jumped at the opportunity to vilify a conservative justice while conveniently forgetting about similar transgressions committed by their beloved liberal judges.
During the press conference, Senator Ted Cruz chimed in with his renowned humor, promising reporters a fried chicken treat if they used the phrase “dead as fried chicken.” Always keeping the spirits high, that Ted!
Republican Senator Lindsay Graham highlighted the Democrats’ hypocrisy in their selective outrage. While they were quick to condemn Thomas for his luxurious vacations, they remained silent when the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg engaged in questionable behavior. Graham, a master of exposing double standards, reminded everyone of Ginsburg accepting a $1 million award in 2019 for an organization of her choice. And let’s not forget when she donated a signed copy of her decision to a pro-abortion group, the National Organization for Women, for a political fundraiser in 1998. Democrats didn’t bat an eye back then, did they?
In conclusion, the Democrats’ attempt to impose ethical standards on the Supreme Court justices has proven to be an absolute failure. It’s apparent that they’re more interested in attacking conservative judges than upholding true justice and fairness. Their selective outrage and hypocritical behavior only serve to weaken our democracy. Thankfully, Republican senators like John, Ted, and Lindsey have the courage to call them out on their misguided and politically motivated crusades. It’s refreshing to see some common sense prevailing in the halls of Congress.
