Elon Musk, the well-known Tesla founder and billionaire entrepreneur, has decided to take matters into his own hands when it comes to the issue of illegal immigration. Wanting to experience firsthand what reporters Julio Rosas, Katie Pavlich, and Guy Benson have observed at the southern border, Musk set out to witness the complete lawlessness that is taking place with his own eyes.
The situation at the border is dire, with illegal aliens freely entering the country and even planting flags on American soil. The Border Patrol is unable to effectively do their job due to the restrictions put in place by the Biden administration. Despite what Biden officials may claim, the border is far from secure. Countless individuals, some of whom have been on terrorist watch lists, have poured into the country unchecked.
Knowing that his actions would surely ruffle the feathers of liberals who already find him irritating, especially after his purchase of Twitter last year, Musk decided to live-stream his visit to the border. Traveling to Eagle Pass, a location where many migrants have been crossing the Rio Grande, Musk witnessed firsthand the disregard for the law and the lack of deterrence provided by the Texas National Guard’s razor wire.
In a video-selfie posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk outlined his two-pronged approach to immigration reform. He called for an “expedited legal approval” process to be implemented, paired with a “greatly expanded legal immigration system.” Musk emphasized the need for an immigration system that welcomes “hard-working and honest” migrants, while also firmly barring entry for those who are “breaking the law.”

As an immigrant himself, Musk made it clear that he is “extremely pro-immigrant.” However, he recognizes the importance of balancing legal immigration with the need to prevent an overwhelming influx of people that can strain social services and lead to their collapse.
With cities like New York City and Chicago admitting that they are no longer able to accept migrants, illegal immigration is set to become a central issue in the 2024 elections. Residents in these cities are growing increasingly frustrated as resources are being redirected towards housing and accommodating illegal immigrants. Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have taken a strong stance on this issue, shining a spotlight on the problems caused by illegal immigration by busing and flying these individuals to Democrat-controlled cities on the coast.
