Europe is finally waking up to a hard truth: the United States is tired of carrying NATO on its back, while Europe lounges around pretending to be the world’s peacekeeper without putting in any real skin in the game. Now, with the threat of President Trump walking away from NATO, European leaders are scrambling to reinvent the alliance—for themselves, not for us. Let’s be honest: this isn’t some noble effort to share the burden. It’s self-preservation for a club that’s gotten fat off American strength and taxpayer dollars, and the elites know it.
Instead of stepping up to defend the West, these bureaucrats are trying to figure out how to kick the U.S. to the curb while keeping the perks they’ve grown addicted to. They aren’t interested in paying their fair share or actually projecting military power. They want to close ranks and cut America out of the decisions that matter. This so-called “Europe-first” approach is just an excuse for NATO to weaken its spine, put up a false front against threats like Russia and Iran, and avoid making any tough calls.

Without the U.S. calling the shots, Europe’s idea of “deterrence” is empty words and endless committee meetings. That’s not security—it’s surrender by another name.
If liberals and globalists think a NATO without a strong America is the answer, they’re kidding themselves—and putting the whole free world at risk. The left loves to talk about “change,” but their big idea is to let America foot the bill, take all the risks, and then shove us aside anyway. Is this the gratitude we get after decades of sacrifice? Maybe it’s finally time for Europe to test drive its “independence”—but when the next crisis comes calling, don’t expect America to clean up the mess. Is anyone really safer with Europe in charge?
