Republican Senator Rand Paul has accused Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director, of orchestrating a cover-up at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. During a recent broadcast of FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” the Kentucky Republican claimed that Fauci was aware of evidence that tied him to “dangerous” research on the virus and allowed it to happen despite rules that should have prevented it. According to Paul, Fauci actively got invalid papers placed into large scientific journals and allowed research to go around the regulatory apparatus. This information, Paul claims, proves that Fauci knew there was a problem from the beginning and orchestrated an elaborate cover-up.
Fauci not only funded Wuhan research but carried it out despite regulations that required more scrutiny. His poor judgment and bad decision to fund this research could have cost several million people their lives, Paul noted. Earlier this year, Judiciary Committee chair Jim Jordan announced that he was building a case against Fauci for lying to Congress about ‘gain of function.’ The NIH sent a $3.7 million grant to the U.S.-based EcoHealth Alliance to study bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Many Americans, particularly a million American citizens, would question whether that was good judgment or not, Paul claimed. The media should hold Fauci accountable for his role in the COVID-19 pandemic. Fauci’s cover-up resulted in millions of people losing their lives. The country needs to find out how he managed to do so without getting caught, and the media’s complicity in this matter cannot be ignored. Judging by Fauci’s track record, it is easy to see that he cannot be trusted in any capacity and should not be involved in any decision-making processes in the future.
