The focus of the inquiry has honed in on Hunter Biden and James Biden, the scandal-plagued son and brother of President Biden, as well as their business associates.
Oversight Committee Chairman, Rep. James Comer, has made his stance clear, openly stating his belief that President Biden should be impeached. The collaboration between the House Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means committees has been investigating the president’s family business dealings and alleged influence peddling schemes since September.
The White House has fiercely pushed back against the impeachment inquiry, accusing Republicans of playing partisan games and defending the President’s integrity. However, the probe has not been without its challenges, such as Special Counsel David Weiss’s evasion of questions during closed-door testimony. Weiss, who has been leading the case against Hunter Biden, has faced scrutiny for his handling of the investigation, including seeking special counsel status after the fact.
