Political commentator and conservative talk show host Larry Elder is gearing up to join the 2024 Republican Presidential field. A source close to Elder revealed that he is expected to make an announcement about his campaign soon. Elder, who used to host the “Larry Elder Show” on Salem Media Group, is poised to become the sixth official entrant into the Republican field. He will be joining the likes of former President Donald Trump, former Trump Ambassador Nikki Haley, and other prominent Republican figures.

Elder has already started establishing himself in the race by making a stop at early voting Iowa and by amassing $1.7 million in his Elder for America PAC, according to FEC disclosures. He has been a staunch advocate for traditional family values and advocating for a return to a two-parent family structure.
Elder has been critical of the overly polished and lawyer-ed statements of other candidates, stating that he would be a candidate who truly stands for something. The Republican National Committee has not yet announced the qualifications for joining the debates but is likely to require a combination of polling and fundraising benchmarks.
While Elder is joining the race, several Republicans are waiting to see how the field develops. This group includes Senator Tim Scott and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who are waiting to see how President Trump’s role will play out in the nominating process.
