Todd Lyons, acting director of ICE, just dropped a bombshell—and America should pay attention. After steering the nation’s toughest immigration agency under President Trump’s second term, Lyons announced he’s stepping down on May 31st. The timing couldn’t be more critical. Democrats in Congress and open-border lobbyists will no doubt celebrate his exit. Why? Because Lyons was one of the very few willing to do what needed to be done: put law-abiding Americans first and criminals on a one-way ticket out.
Let’s be honest here—Lyons’ time at ICE was never going to win him any popularity contests in the leftist media. He led an agency that got the green light to ramp up arrests, expand detention centers, and actually enforce the laws that Congress pretends to care about. Under his leadership, hundreds of dangerous criminals—murderers, rapists, terrorists—weren’t just coddled with sanctuary policies, but sent packing. And cities like Chicago and Minneapolis got a much-needed breath of fresh air, as ICE finally had the resources to go after gang members and thugs protected by soft-on-crime mayors.

Of course, this didn’t come without a cost. The radical left and their mouthpieces blamed Lyons for every tough decision he made, especially during high-profile incidents involving federal agents. Funny how these same politicians are always the first to clutch their pearls about “community safety” yet turn a blind eye when American citizens get caught in the crossfire of their sanctuary nonsense.
Now, the Biden administration and its globalist allies are licking their chops. Who will replace Lyons? No one seems to know. The Senate hasn’t bothered to confirm a real leader for ICE since Obama’s days—another sign that Democrats would rather cripple immigration enforcement than protect American families. With Lyons stepping aside, the White House will likely try to install another bureaucratic placeholder, someone happy to check boxes and rubber-stamp open borders.
Make no mistake, Lyons's leaving is exactly what the progressive elites wanted all along. They’re hoping it will slow down the Trump administration’s momentum and pave the way for dangerous criminals to slip through the cracks again. Are we really going to let the radical left undo every last gain? Or is it finally time to demand leaders who don’t apologize for putting America first?
