Iranian Cluster Bombs Hit Tel Aviv: Time to Hold Tehran Accountable

A shocking attack in central Israel left an Israeli man dead after shrapnel from a suspected Iranian cluster munition struck in Tel Aviv, another horrific example of Tehran’s willingness to rain terror on civilians. This was not an accident of war; it was the deliberate use of weapons designed to maim indiscriminately, and innocent lives paid the price. Hardworking Israelis and ordinary families deserve protection, not to be treated as targets by a regime that answers power with brutality.

Cluster munitions are a coward’s weapon, scattering bomblets over populated areas and forcing long-term danger on neighborhoods and rescue workers. Israel’s air defenses can only do so much when weapons are programmed to disperse before interceptors can get them, and our allies in the region find themselves on the front lines of a war of Iran’s making. Americans who stand beside Israel should demand the international community stop treating Tehran with kid gloves and start treating these attacks for what they are: war crimes.

The United States and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury on February 28, 2026, striking Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure in a decisive response to years of aggression and the recent escalation. That operation has come at a cost: U.S. troops have been wounded and killed defending American interests and partners, and the Pentagon has been forced to conduct sustained, high-intensity strikes to degrade Tehran’s capabilities. Our service members are not collateral — they are patriots who answered the call, and their sacrifices demand clarity of purpose, not hand-wringing or equivocation.

Iran’s tit-for-tat attacks have also hit U.S. assets in Saudi Arabia, with strikes at Prince Sultan Air Base damaging refueling aircraft and wounding American service members — proof that allowing Iran to grow stronger only invites attacks on our forces and partners. These are avoidable wounds inflicted by a regime that exports violence, and Congress and the administration must ensure our military has the tools and freedom to finish the job. Tehran’s leaders should learn that aggression against Americans and our friends will be met with overwhelming force and unflinching resolve.

Now is the moment for patriots to stand firm for our troops and for Israel, not to appease or apologize for defending civilization against murderous theocrats. The mainstream media’s reflex to downplay our losses or moral clarity only helps the enemy; hardworking Americans know better and must demand victory and accountability. We will not cower while Tehran practices barbarism; we will support our forces, back our allies, and make sure that freedom—and those who fight for it—prevails.
