CNN says that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos intends to devote most of his $124 billion net fortune to fighting climate change and bridging cultural and political divides.It was the first time Bezos said he would donate most of his money. Bezos was attacked for not joining the Giving Pledge, in which the world's richest individuals pledge to contribute most of their money to charity. Bezos has previously given 8% of his net wealth to his girlfriend's Bezos Earth Fund.

Bezos and Sanchez told CNN's Chloe Melas on Saturday that they are “building the capacity to be able to give away this money.” Yes, Bezos expects to contribute most of his riches throughout his lifetime. Bezos and Sanchez wanted to attract attention to the Bezos Courage and Civility Award, which was handed to Dolly Parton.

As part of their Courage and Civility Award, Bezos and Sánchez gave Parton $100 million. Bezos has donated comparable grants to chef Jose Andrés, who has been feeding Ukrainians. CNN climate kook Van Jones also got a grant.
