The trauma caused by the Holocaust plays a significant role in the Jewish community’s collective psyche. The fear of another Holocaust looms large and influences the decisions made by many Jews. Some choose to distance themselves from their Jewish identity to assimilate better. The desire for acceptance leads to alliances with groups that promote hatred towards Israel and Jews.
