First Lady Jill Biden recently heaped praise on what can only be described as the most controversial opening ceremony in Olympic history. The Paris Olympics kicked off with a flourish, featuring a drag queen rendition of the Last Supper that left many Christians scratching their heads and wondering if they’d accidentally tuned into a circus instead of the Olympic Games. Jill, who led the U.S. delegation, rated the event as “spectacular,” despite it apparently being a direct slap in the face to the 2.4 billion Christians around the globe. Apparently, only in Bidenland can one find beauty in what many see as a blasphemous spectacle.
Biden stated that the Paris ceremony would be a tough act to follow, especially as Los Angeles gears up for the 2028 Olympics. She waxed poetic about the event at a brunch attended by L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, claiming the rain “did not dampen our spirits.” Given the weather and the bizarre performances, one questions whether they were really talking about a grand celebration of athleticism or just the latest episode of a politically charged reality show. Maybe it’s the new interpretation of “going for the gold”—just throw moderation and respect for tradition out the window.
France used to be symbolised by breathtakingly beautiful women and smoulderingly handsome men. I think we can all agree things are much improved now that two fat drag queens are parading in the rain at the opening of the Paris Olympics. pic.twitter.com/prYpLOygR2

The spectacle featured athletes cruising down the Seine while men in drag portrayed Jesus’s disciples, led by a self-styled “love activist” channeling Christ himself. If that doesn’t sound like an Oscar-winning proposal for cultural relevance, what does? It’s hard to imagine what the Founding Fathers would think if they were watching this parade—assuming they didn’t pass out at the sight. There was a time when France was revered for its art and culture, but now it seems they’ve traded in sophistication for a circus act in the name of progressivism. Congratulations, Paris; you’ve truly outdone yourselves.
Critics were quick to denounce the ceremony, noting that it was a blatant mockery of Christianity. Piers Morgan, never one to hold back, voiced his disbelief at the decision to kick off the Olympics with such a disrespectful display. It raises an important question: would the organizers dare to mock Islam or Judaism in the same manner? Doubtful. Perhaps that’s the real issue; it seems the Olympics have taken a hard turn into a realm where being woke takes precedence over being respectful.
The startling display of political correctness did not go unnoticed internationally. Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini didn’t mince words when he called the ceremony “a really bad start” for the Games. It seems the woke brigade didn’t just alienate a significant portion of the global population, but also managed to draw ire from traditional allies in Europe, who know all too well the importance of respecting religious sentiments. As the countdown begins to the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, one can only wonder how they’ll manage to “top” what was arguably an Olympic-sized misfire in Paris. Let’s just hope they leave the drag queens and political statements back on the Seine for good.
