A U.S. District Court has recently opened the floodgates for the release of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s report regarding President-elect Donald Trump. Judge Aileen Cannon, seemingly unphased by Trump’s legal maneuvers to block this report, decided to let it all hang out, allowing Smith’s findings to hit the public at midnight Tuesday. If only the same could be said for consistency in the rule of law.
Smith’s grand opus includes his opinions on Trump’s supposedly nefarious attempts to turn the 2020 election results on their head. In a fit of prediction rather than reality, Smith claims that had Trump not won a second term in November, he’d be facing prison time. One must wonder if Smith’s crystal ball was on the fritz, or if he simply couldn’t bear to admit that Trump’s second term may have been a major factor in his supposed innocence. Liberals have eagerly pounced on this report as definitive evidence of Trump’s wrongdoing, but then again, they have a tendency to see guilty parties everywhere except in the mirror.

Following years of high-stakes legal drama, starting with the shockingly theatrical FBI raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, Smith’s report has become the final gasp of the Democrats’ relentless pursuit of their political rival. It’s almost comical; the FBI storming the home of a former president turned out to be the best PR move Trump could have ever asked for. Americans across the nation not only woke up to the concept of “lawfare” but also to the fact that Democrats would stop at nothing to wield our legal system as a political weapon.
Smith’s indictment efforts, as expected, fell flat. What remains is Volume One of his report, which centers around his baseless charges of election interference. The second volume, focusing on Trump’s supposed misdeeds regarding classified documents, remains under wraps with Judge Cannon set to rule soon on its release. Trump’s team has argued that never before has the Department of Justice attempted to intervene with incoming presidential administrations in such a sleazy manner. It seems they might have a case, considering the amazing lengths some will go to justify their failings when it comes to Trump.
In the end, Smith’s report doesn’t bring new information to the table—it’s naught but a mere manifesto driven by personal vendetta against a man who continues to rise. With Trump getting ready to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, it’s evident that Smith and the left’s plans are futile. Instead of presenting anything truly impactful, the report merely equips the left with another barrage of mud to throw at Trump, hoping it will stick. Expect the media to spin it into serious analysis when in reality, it’s nothing more than political theater masquerading as legal documentation, all for the sake of impotently derailing Trump’s undeniable success.
