Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL quarterback and activist, has reached out to the New York Jets in hopes of securing a spot on their practice squad. As a veteran quarterback, Kaepernick understands his role would be that of a backup. This, in turn, would give the Jets an opportunity to assess Kaepernick’s football skills and potentially consider him for other roles within the organization.
Kaepernick emphasizes that he would not add any competitive pressure to Zach Wilson, who is currently tasked with replacing Rodgers as the starting quarterback. He expresses his commitment to boosting Wilson’s confidence and only being a positive presence within the team.
The letter concludes with Kaepernick highlighting his rigorous training schedule and providing a list of references to vouch for his character, including his former coach Jim Harbaugh and Mark Davis, the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

It is worth noting that Kaepernick’s letter was made public by rapper J. Cole, who believes that people should know the truth about Kaepernick’s dedication and desire to play football again.
In a conservative perspective, while it’s commendable that Kaepernick is still determined to play football and help a team succeed, it is important to remember his controversial actions in the past. Kaepernick’s decision to kneel during the national anthem in protest against racial injustice sparked widespread controversy and led to a decline in his NFL career. It is understandable if some organizations are hesitant to consider him for a role on their teams. Nonetheless, Kaepernick’s persistence and dedication cannot be denied, and it will be interesting to see if any team decides to give him a chance.
