In a recent town hall appearance with Univision, Vice President Kamala Harris showcased her usual flair for political doublespeak while addressing the sensitive issue of abortion. During her remarks, she acknowledged that many individuals have come to the conclusion that they do not support abortion. However, in an eyebrow-raising twist, she wrapped her support for the procedure in the guise of personal freedom—because nothing says compassionate leadership quite like advocating for the choice to end a life.
Harris argued that the government’s role should be to stay out of personal decisions regarding abortion. It’s an interesting stance from a party that thrives on government intervention in nearly every other aspect of life. Apparently, her idea of liberty includes allowing individuals the choice to terminate a pregnancy, while simultaneously ignoring the choice of those who believe in protecting life. Maybe it’s just selective freedom she’s advocating for.
Harris: Many ‘Rightly’ ‘Do Not Believe in Abortion’, But I’ll Make It ‘Basically’ Unrestricted
“So, as president of the U.S., and, if I am elected as the first woman president of the United States, I will proudly sign back into law the protections of Roe v. Wade."… pic.twitter.com/10mBfFV9Hk

The Vice President also flaunted her ambitions to restore the protections offered under Roe v. Wade should she find herself in the Oval Office. Harris believes that being the first female president would be an excellent platform from which she could return to this landmark case. But one has to wonder: is she concerned about the values of those who think otherwise, or is this merely a political maneuver designed to secure votes from a specific demographic?
For Harris, it seems like her abortion stance is all about fighting for “choice,” conveniently overlooking that the choice to terminate a baby results in another set of choices—namely, the moral and ethical dilemmas faced by families and individuals. This twist of logic aims to portray those who oppose abortion as intolerant, as if personal beliefs against abortion are somehow an assault on freedom, despite her own lack of respect for differing views.
As the 2024 election draws nearer, Harris continues to demonstrate that her ideas stand firmly on the foundation of progressive ideology, which tends to ignore the complexities of human life in favor of a one-dimensional narrative. The irony of promoting individual choice while advocating for policies that dismiss the choice not to abort is a testament to the confounding nature of modern liberal politics.
